Founded in 2018 by Director James Voller, Collide is an artist-led studio dedicated to creating innovative, site-responsive public artworks across Australia.

We specialise in translating artistic concepts into large-scale installations that merge digital media, architecture, and material experimentation. Our projects transform public spaces, engaging audiences through immersive, thought-provoking experiences that reflect the cultural, historical, and environmental narratives of each site.

Collide brings extensive experience in managing large-scale public art projects from conception to installation. We handle all aspects of the process, including tender writing, research, design, project management, and artist collaboration. This comprehensive approach ensures that every project we undertake is delivered to the highest standard.

Collide thrives on collaboration. We work closely with artists, engineers, designers, and fabricators to push the boundaries of public art, using cutting-edge technologies and durable materials to ensure longevity and impact. We have an ongoing commitment to working with First Nations artists and communities, embedding cultural knowledge into meaningful and respectful artworks.

From digital projections on water to permanent sculptural interventions in urban and regional landscapes, our work reimagines how art interacts with place. Whether it's activating a disused silo, embedding narratives into transport corridors, or creating responsive light-based installations, Collide creates connection—between people, spaces, and stories.

Thomas Ryan, Collide’s preferred engineer, is a creative genius with a keen eye for detail and an unwavering passion for bringing ideas to life. He translates artistic dreams and aspirations into industry specific construction drawings.
